What is Cavity Wall Insulation?
It is a layer of insulation that is installed in a cavity wall, either fibre, bead or foam. Cavity Wall Insualtion is an insulation system injected into the cavities of a property, after it has been built. This is known as Retro Fit.
How can I tell if the problems I have are because of the cavity wall insulation?
These issues will have started only after the cavity wall insulation was installed. Also, our highly skilled surveyors will be able to confirm the problems are a result of the cavity wall insulation.
How do I know if I can claim?
If you have had cavity wall insulation installed and are suffering from damp, mould, excessive condensation or other such issues, you may be eligible to claim.

What do I need for a claim?
The most important thing you need is an up to date CIGA certificate and any post install paperwork you were given.
You will also be asked to provide:
• Photographic ID such as passport or driving licence
• National Insurance Number
• Proof of address
• And a surveyors report, which we will complete for you
How much will Cavity Wall Insulation Claim cost me?
Very simply nothing !
If my claim is succesful, how much of my compensation will you take?
Nothing! You will receive all of the compensation; our fees are claimed on top of the figure you are awarded.
Who are CIGA?
CIGA are the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency who were established with the government to provide a 25 year guarantee for cavity wall insulation that has been installed. Many of our customers find that CIGA are not independent and do not provide a fair service when they contact them directly.
What if I don’t have my CIGA certificate?

What happens if my insulation was not registered with CIGA?
If you are advised that your insulation was not registered
with CIGA, please provide us with copies of any other documents you have in relation to the cavity wall insulation, so we can see how we can take your claim further.
These documents may include:
• Any contract or agreement you signed
• Any post insulation documents
Why am I experiencing cavity wall problems?
This will be because of one of two problems. Firstly, your home may not have been suitable to have cavity wall insulation installed in the first place. Secondly, it may not have been installed correctly.
Will cavity wall problems impact my health?
Very simply, yes it may do. This can include health issues such as respiratory infections or problems, sinusitis, fungal infections and sickness. Please be sure to advise us of any health issues you may be experiencing.
Can I have the insulation removed whilst the claim is processing?
We recommend you do not do this until after your claim is completed as it could have a negative impact on your claim.
